Gina's Story...

​

Owner of Amerie Cause-supporting Boutique, Gina Mullis, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the end of 2014/beginning of 2015. It was a long and terrifying process to get to the point of diagnosis, and continues to be a scary and unpredictable journey. Throughout the process and after diagnoses, Gina suffered great financial strain from costs of neurologist visits, steroid treatments, MRIs, bloodwork, and the outrageously priced symptom-stabilizing Medication.

 

Multiple sclerosis, or MS, is a long-lasting disease that can affect your brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves in your eyes. ... MS happens when your immune system attacks a fatty material called myelin, which wraps around your nerve fibers to protect them. There is no known cause and no cure.

Team #GivingforGina was formed in 2015 to help raise funds to offset the medical debt Gina and her family were thrust into and to provide funds to national and local MS organizations to aid in better funding for research and support. Each year we walk in Indianapolis at the National MS Walk and sell t-shirts and other items to raise additional funds. 

​

Gina continues to fight each day, and despite a roller coaster of stressful and tough events and situations over the past two years, continues to live each day with purpose and intention. Your support and kindness means more to Gina and her family than could ever be truly expressed.
